50 metre long kozunak in Karlovo

The mayor of the municipality of Karlovo, eng. Naiden Naidenov was given the honor to have the first cut of the 50 metre long kozunak (sweet bread) on the square “July 20th” in the city.

The kozunak was made by a firm in the village Vedrare. It consisted of 170 eggs, 7 kg. raisins, 7 kg. sugar. It required special utensils to prepare and bake the entire bread. Easter eggs were lined along the length of the kozunak. They were painted by children from the kindergartens in Karlovo.

On April 17th, the Mazakova house hosted the traditional exhibition-bazaar for hand-painted Easter eggs. They were all done by the children of the religious club of the local kids club.
