78% of the foreign investments are concentrated in Sofia

“About 78% of the foreign investments in Bulgaria are concetrated in the nation’s capital, and for the last 15 years – about 50% of the foreign capitals are invested in Sofia”.

Those were the words of the member of parliament mayor of Sofia Minko Gerdzhikov during an international conference dedicated to the appliance of the Lisbon strategy for regional development of the capital.

The citizens of Sofia that are fit for work are around 700 thousand people, and the average worker’s salary is 31% higher than anywhere else in the country, and is about 287 euro.

Among the best developed sectors in Sofia are the estate trading business, the transport and communication services. 33% of the GDP in Bulgaria is provided by the capital city and rises each year by 13 to 15 percent.
