4 billion leva for the improvement of the railway transport
Four billion leva have been provided for the improvement of the railway transport in Bulgaria – it’s safety and security.
This was stated by the Minister of transport Petar Mutafchiev in front of journalists from Pleven.
He clarified, that the government approved a special financial program which envisions the thorough renovation of this type of transport by the year 2013.
According to the minister, the railway infrastructure of Bulgaria can rely on an additional 560 million euro from the programs of the European Union to ensure the modernization.
Petar Mutafchiev participated in the ritual for the blessing of the monument, raised near the railway line near Cherven briag. On February 28th last year, nine people died during a fire in a wagon of the night train between Sofia and Kardam.
