A new social council was created in Burgas. It will advise the municipality administration on the issues of sea politics. The first meeting of the council was held on January 16th. During the meeting, the mayor of Burgas Dimitar Nikolov presented the captain Dobri Yankov as a new employee in the municipality of Burgas, who is responsible for the concepts of sea politics.

The municipality of Burgas has ambitions to develop an active postition on the role of the integrated European sea politics. The reason for this is the quick development and importance of Burgas in the national sea politics of Bulgaria. The main goal of the sea politics of Burgas is to create conditions for stable development of sea sectors and coastal regions. Burgas will initiate and participate in initiatives for the development of networks for sea overseeing, development of sea tourism, environment protection, etc.
