The International day of diabetes

November 14th is the International day of struggle against diabetes. It was celebrated for the first time in 1991, by the International diabetes organization and the Worldwide health organization.

On December 20th 2006 the General assembly of the UN approved a special Resolution for the diabetes, that marked the success of the efforts of millions of diabetics. Their worldwide community participated in one of the largest campaigns in the world.

The special Resolution 61/225 for diabetes marks November 14th as a Worldwide day of diabetes under the watch of UN.

The goal is to raise awareness of the growing number of diabetics, to encourage governments to work on the problems of diabetes through the organization of national diabetes programs.

There will be a charity concert “Together against diabetes” in NDK tonight, at 20:00 PM.
