Restoration of the Antique stadium in Plovdiv

The Ancient stadium of Plovdiv will be restored. The restoration will require no small sum. To renovate the Plovdiv Roman Stadium will require 896 825 euro. The Commission for the financial operations of the European economic space will provide the funds for the project of the municipality administration of Plovdiv.

83,51% of the sum will be financed by the Norvegian government, and the rest – by the Republican budget.

The project includes the creation of an underground museum of Philippopolis after the archaeological research and conservation activities are over and the place is suitable for public. When the project is completed, Plovdiv will become an even more important center of Bulgarian history and historical tourism.
