Excavations of an ancient Orthodox church near Varna

Excavations of an ancient Orthodox church in the locale Janavara will begin in July. This was announced by the archaeologist Todor Rokov. He added that the planned excavations of a fortress from the late period of antiquity near the residence in Evksinograd will be carried out.

The archaeologist is currently working in Devnia on the excavation of a Roman house. Other specialists will probably take care of the excavations in the city Biala, but that project is still unconfirmed.

According to Rokov, special teams of archaeologists are checking for artifacts found by accident at construction sites near Varna.
