Bulgaria – в„–1 in the high speed internet access in the EU

Bulgaria is в„–1 in the European union in the field of the high speed internet access. A total of 46.5% of the broadband lines in Bulgaria offer a traffic of over 10 mbits per second. This was announced by Diter Angerer, chief executive of Nokia Siemens Networks in Bulgaria, during yesterday’s conference of the company.

According to Angerer, Bulgaria still has a lot to accomplish in the internet field. For example, the introduction of the broadband lines is done three times slower than the average.

The market position of the broadband connection in Bulgaria in January was 11.2%. In comaprison, in July 2008 the percentage was only 9.5%. The average market position of the broadband internet in the European union at the time was 21.7%.
