Julia Ognianova received the “Ikar” 2009 lifetime achievement award from the Union of Bulgarian actors (SAB).

On the eve of her latest premiere – “The Wallpapers of Time” in the Theatre of satire, the 86 year old grand lady of Bulgarian theatre received a long round of applause by her colleagues.

On March 27th, the International day of theatre, the professional organization gave their annual awards on an official ceremony in the National theatre “Ivan Vazov”. The nominees were announced back in February.

Ivan Dobchev is director of the year – for his spectacle “Lazarus and Jesus”, based on the story by Emilian Stanev and executed by the theatre workshop “Sfumato”.
