The subway is a priority

“The municipality of Sofia gave 10 million leva for the purchase of estates since the beginning of 2009. Unfortunatelly, this is the only way to be able to broaden the boulevards”, says the mayor of Sofia Boiko Borisov during the opening of the renovated section between the boulevards “Stamboliiski” and “Todor Alexandrov”.

Over 90 spots in Sofia are under renovation at the moment, added the mayor. He defined the subway as the top priority of the capital. The work on the subway is according to schedule, with the section between the districts “Mladost” and “Liulin 5” being under construction at the moment. The European investment bank approved all projects for construction of subway stations in the capital.

The commission will arrive on May 6th to sign the memorandum. Borisov promised to turn the first sod right after signing the document.
