The prime minister will be the patron of the Tour of Bulgaria

Today’s press conference of the Bulgarian cycling federation announced that the prime minister of Bulgaria Boiko Borisov will be the official patron of the upcoming Tour of Bulgaria.

The 59th edition of the tour will begin on September 7th and will take place over 5 racing days. The starting line is in the center of Sofia, and the finish line – in Plovdiv. The length of the whole tour is 1012 kilometers, or 1/3 of Tour de France, which ended several weeks ago.

The Tour staff expects the participation of over twenty teams, five of which are Bulgarian.

The grand prize is 12,000 euro, and for each of the six stages – 3,550 leva.
