The last Bulgarian contingent came back from Iraq

The plane of the last Bulgarian contingent that participated in the Iraq operations landed in Sofia. The Bulgarian delegation, lead by the minister of defence Nikolay Tsonev, arrived along with it.

The minister of defence Nikolay Tsonvev and the head of the General headquarters of the Bulgarian army general Zlatan Stoikov were present at the airport.

When he took off the plane, the defence minister Nikolay Tsonev reported to the prime minister Sergey Stanishev that the 6th division accomplished successfully their mission in the “Cropper” base in Bagdad and returns to Bulgarian soil with no losses. Due to the absence of the supreme commander-in-chief of the Bulgarian army, the president Georgi Parvanov, the prime minister Stanishev accepted the rapport of the national representative in Iraq, lieutenant-colonel Nikolay Kirov.
