Submitted on Thursday, 26 March 2009No Comment

The Bulgarian-Romanian trade chamber announced that the barter between Bulgaria and Romania for the period between January and November 2008 reached the value 2,369 billion euro.

For the same period, the imports for Bulgaria from Romania amount to 1,34 billion euro, and the export – 1,03 billion euro, which results in a negative balance for Bulgaria of 310 million euro. Compared to the first eleven months of 2007, the barter between the two countries was 1,483 billion euro and a negative balance for Bulgaria of 280 billion euro.

The tendencies are for a significan increase of barter, import and export, and a minimal increase of negative balance for Bulgaria. When compared to the same period in 2007, the first eleven months of 2008 show a growth of barter between the two countries by nearly 60%, an increase of export from Bulgaria to Romania by 71% and an increase of import by nearly 52%. Despite the better export value, the negative balance of Bulgaria increased by 10.7%, mostly due to the importing of petroleum from Romania.
