The company that will take care of the construction in the new passenger terminal at the international airport – Plovdiv was chosen. Construction will begin in two weeks, explained the chief executive of the airport Andreya Andreev.

Eight companies expressed interest in participating in the auction, but only three were approved for the second stage of the auction because of issues with the paperwork of the others.

An independent committee appraised the offers. The company “Koev” EOOD from Plovdiv ranked first. A little behind them ranks the Construction consortium “Terra”.

“Koev” EOOD signed to take care of the airport terminal within 89 days. The project is worth 13 621 654 leva.

The terminal will be large, spreading over 6750 sq. m. area.

The competition for the firm that will construct the parking lot of the airport is yet to be announced. Many other finishing touches and renovations are also incomplete.

The terminal of the Plovdiv airport is completely self-funded. The government will aid financially only the construction of the parking lot and the stopping places for planes.
