Sofia – both known and unknown

Sofia is among the oldest European capitals. The human settlements here have a history of over 7000 years.

The city is beautiful – once you get to know it’s splendours. Many of the citizens living in the capital Sofia think that they know the city. They come to that conclusion by walking on the yellow pavement, enjoying the calm of the “Borisova” Garden and lighting a candle in the famed church “St. Alexander Nevski”. But is this all of Sofia?

Anyone willing to devote a little more time and attention to this beautiful city now has a chance. The Artist’s gallery in Sofia currently hosts and exhibition called: “Sofia throughout the years – the imprints of life”.

The exhibition is devoted to the sculptural and architectural monuments in Sofia, which carry the city’s memories. The exhibition is on display until April 26th 2009 in the Artist’s gallery of Sofia.
