Parvanov: This is a vote for the respect of Bulgaria in the EU

“In a day like this, the most important thing to remember is that we also vote for the respect of Bulgaria in the EU, for the authority of our country and for our ability to create an able team of euromembers of parliament”.

Those were the words of the Bulgarian president Georgi Parvanov, after he casted his vote in the school “Aleko Konstantinov”, accompanied by his wife Zorka Parvanova.

The president advised the Bulgarian citizens to exercise their right to vote “despite scepticism and negativity”, so that Bulgaria can “have the final word on issues related to the energy crisis, the broadening of the EU, the issues in the Balkans and the defending of Bulgarian interests”.

Parvanov said that he expected a better debate between the candidates, but “according to tradition, the accent is once again on issues inside Bulgaria”. The president once again confirmed his opinion that the political model in Bulgaria should change in order to regain the trust of the citizens in the parties.
