Iiya Troianov will open the Book fair in Vienna

Vienna will be the host of the first international book fair “Book Vienna 08” from November 20th to 23rd. It will take place at the Fair village. This forum will be the biggest presentation of books in Austria to date. 251 publishers, 103 of which foreign, will present themselves over an area of 7000 sq. m.

The accent of the fair is placed on the countries from Central and Southeastern Europe. The official speech during the opening will be given by the bulgarian cosmpolite Iliya Troianov. He’d lived in Germany, Afrika and India, and now lives and works in the Austrian capital.

As a successor to the Week of books, that was a tradition in Vienna for 60 years, “Book Vienna 08” will host not only a book fair, but also numerous literary readings.

The guests of the “week of reading” that accompanies the fair will have the chance to become well acquainted with the modern Bulgarian literature. Iliya Troianov, Georgi Gospodinov, Deyan Enev and Alec Popov will participate in the literary readings.
