Bulgarian woman climbs Everest

The first Bulgarian woman climbed Everest on May 22nd. Petya Kolcheva made a landmark, being the first Bulgarian lady to climb the Roof of the world.

Her husband, Kamen Kolchev, accompanied her on her climb.

The two are part of an expedition of a total of 11 mountaineers from various countries. Her group waited a while for the suitable conditions to climb the peak, and took advantage of the better weather between May 20th – 22nd.

The two Bulgarian mountaineers first tried to climb the peak on May 10th – 11th, but their attempt was ruined by the unsuitable weather.
