Bulgaria lost it’s status as a cheap destination

The main attractions for tourists and Bulgarians for a winter vacation in Bulgaria are the beautiful nature and splendid cuisine. Most suggestions concern the need for a better advertisement of Bulgaria and the need of better roads to and in the resorts.

At the moment, only 30% of the foreigners in Bulgaria consider it a cheap tourism destination. 51% think that it’s an average price destination and 16% – that it’s an expensive one. This was announced by the chairman of the National tourism agency Anelia Krushkova during her presentation on the winter tourism in Bulgaria. She commented that Bulgaria is obviously departing from the image of a cheap destination, but that doesn’t mean it lacks advantages in the prices.

Foreigners that visit Bulgaria during the winter are young adults, and dominantly men. The statistics come from a research on 3310 foreign guests in the resorts Bansko, Borovets, Pamporovo. Nearly 80% of them come from countries inside the European Union.
