Bulgaria is among the top 10 destinations for British tourists
Bulgaria takes the eighth spot among the favorite destinations of British tourists in 2009. In the British preferences, Bulgaria is ahead of other established tourism countries like Italy and Croatia.
The Internet tourism agency Holidays-Direct conducted the research according to the reservations from British consumers during the last six months. This year, the most popular destination for UK tourists is Turkey.
The preferred Turkish resorts include Antalya, Bodrum and Marmaris. Turkey took the first spot from last year’s favorite, Spain, who are now second. Spain is followed by Greece, the Canary Islands and Egypt.
The web company states that these results reflect the trend of British tourists choosing more exotic destinations outside the eurozone, where they receive more for their money’s worth.
