Stanka – still number 1 in the world

For a third consecutive year Stanka Zlateva was declared number 1 in the women rankings of the International Federation of Associated Wrestling Styles (FILA).

The Bulgarian Wrestling Federation received a fax message from FILA. The fax informs, that the awarding of Zlateva will take place during the European championship in Vilnius (Lithuania) in March 2009.

This season Zlateva won the World cup and the European cup again, was first at the Grand Prix tournaments and won a silver medal in the Olympic games in Beijing.

With these rankings, she was ranked at the top of women in FILA with 41 points.

FILA declared Rovshan Bayramov (55 kg., Azerbaijan, 30 points) number 1 in the classical style of wrestling. FILA also declared Vasilii Fedorshin (60 kg., Ukraine, 30 points) for the number 1 freeform wrestler.
