A record setting number of visits at cape Kaliakra

By the end of the year, the visitors of cape Kaliakra are expected to exceed 600 000 people, which is 100 000 more comapred to last year. This year marks the first significant superiority of unorganized visits. Nearly 80% of all visitors have visited the locale alone, and only 20% of the tourists were in organized groups.

The last tourism season can be defined as a very successful one for the municipality of Kavarna. The number of visits to this moment is 238 000, which surpasses the number for the entire previous year, announces the mayor Tsonko Tsonev. The expected number of visits by the end of 2009 is more than 250 000. “Despite the crisis, we expect a growth of 6-7% compared to last year, which is mostly due to Kaliakra Rock Fest in July,” states the mayor. The festival achieved record setting number of visits, filling up the entire bedding base. Most of the fans also stayed after the festival, matching their vacations with the concerts.

According to tradition, Kavarna also expects many guests for Christmas and New Year’s Eve.
