A girl from Pleven – karate vice champion in Paris

Emanuela Angelova from the martial arts club “Petromax” in Pleven and student in the sports high school of the city, became an European vice champion in Paris.

She won the only medal for Bulgaria at the European karate championship for youths up to 21 years in France. 44 countries with over 700 competitors took part in the challenge. The Bulgarian national karate federation sent 20 karateka.

Emanuela got to the finals in the 60 kg. category – the discipline “kumite individuals” for girls up to 21 years. She won 4 resounding victories over her adversaries from Montenegro (4:1), Slovakia (1:0), Croatia (3:0) and Hungary (3:1). On the final match, Angelova lost to the Spanish Ferer Garcia with a score of 3:6.
