Bulgarian hotel among the best in the Balkans
Grand hotel “Dimyat” in Varna, which opened last week, will be nominated to participate in the rankings for the best hotel on the Balkans for 2009.
This was announced by the chairman of the Bulgarian hotel and restaurant owners association Blagoi Ralin. According to him, “Dimyat” will be nominated for “best Bulgarian hotel” for this year as well.
The owner of the five-star tourist base Dimitar Lefterov announced that the investment in the hotel was 10,5 million euro. Lefterov is also the owner of the “Lagoon” complex in the Golden Sands resort.
The capacity of “Dimyat” is 170 beds. The building is located next to the Sea garden, replacing the emblematic Varna hotel “Dimyat”. The building features a tourist section, office grounds and a casino. The total area of the building is 180 thousand square meters. The 14 storey building has a panorama restaurant on the top two floors, an underground parking lot and covered parkings on two levels. The hotel offers accomodations for conference and business tourism as well.
The minister of economics Ivo Marinov, the governor of Varna Dancho Simeonov and representatives of the tourism business from all over Bulgaria attended the opening ceremony. The hotel was blessed by the bishop of Varna and Veliki Preslav Kiril and the archimandrite Nikifor, bishop of the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
