Bulgarian-German exchange of merchandise reached record values
The exchange of merchandise between Bulgaria and Germany has reached record values. This was said in Haskovo by Dr. Mitko Vasilev, chairman of the German-Bulgarian industrial-trade chamber. He accompanied the ambassador of Germany Michael Geier at his visitation in the Bulgarian town on occasion of German Unity Day.
In 2007 the exchange of merchandise between the two countries was 3.7 billion Euro and it’s expected to raise to 4 billion Euro this year, said Dr. Vasilev. He emphasized that such values hadn’t been reached even in the years when Bulgaria had been separated. He predicts that these numbers will double in about 5-6 years.
Approximately 5 thousand German firms work with Bulgaria. The German investments in the country were 6 billion Euro during the last year. They are of long-term character and mainly concentrated in production.
