Sir Alex Ferguson, the manger of Manchester United was also present at the ceremony, according to Nayden Angelov, the specially assigned reporter of the Bulgarian daily “24 Hours,” who spoke before Gong.bg and Darik radio.
It was also announced at the press conference that the captain of the Bulgarian national football team was going to make his debut Saturday in the Manchester United game against Liverpool.
The press conference took 35 minutes with the entire ceremony, including Berbatov taking his picture with the number 9 shirt, running exactly on time and as scheduled.
Berbatov made a tour of the stadium with his new Manchester United team and walked in front of the team’s official box.
At the press conference, Berbatov himself confirmed that he has been surprised by the last minute offer coming from Manchester City during the final day of the transfer window.
“My dream was, however, to play for Manchester United and my goals now are even higher,” Berbatov concluded.
