The Mayor of Sofia Boyko Borisov received a medal for service in the fight with international terrorism from the Federal service for safety of the Russian federation (FSSRF). The Mayor attended the official celebrations on occasion of the 10th anniversary of the creation of the Centre for special operations at the FSSRF in Moscow.

The same medal was received by the Prime Minister of Russia Vladimir Putin. Boyko Borisov was the only guest from Bulgaria to receive an invitation for the celebrations.
