Veliko Tarnovo with a three-day work week

Submitted on Wednesday, 10 December 2008No Comment

Many firms in Veliko Tarnovo turn to lower working times, striving to keep their personnel off the streets before the beginning of the winter.

The companies try to be as flexible as possible to avoid firing their workers. Working three or four days a week, working for half a day and similar methods are introduced to avoid firing people. Another common method is giving paid or unpaid holidays to the employees.

The tourism, construction and manufacture industries lay off the most workers in Veliko Tarnovo, writes the newspaper “Borba”.
