US President Obama congratulates new Bulgaria PM Borisov

US President Barack Obama will become the first world leader to officially congratulate new Bulgaria PM Boyko Borisov on his appointment.

US Ambassador to Bulgaria, Nancy McEldowney, will personally deliver the letter from Obama at Borisov’s first diplomatic meeting since assuming office.

Last Friday Obama also sent a congratulatory letter to Bulgarian President Georgi Parvanov on the fifth anniversary of Bulgaria’s accession to NATO.

US Ambassador Nancy McEldowney handed Parvanov the letter after receiving the highest Stara Planina order in an official ceremony on Thursday.
