The national administration laid off 4400 people in 2008

The Bulgarian administration laid off 4 388 employees in 2008, stated the minister of national administrtion and administrative reforms Nikolai Vasilev in front of journalists.

He presented his report for the condition of administration during the last year, which will be discussed at today’s meeting of the Council of ministers.

According to data from 2008, the employees in the national administration were 86 877, with 6 652 empty spots.

The average monthly salary for the employees in the national administration in 2008 was 643,19 leva – 15,8% more than in 2007.
