The Bulgarian army will participate in the ceremony for the National holiday

Divisions of the Bulgarian army will participate in the ceremonies for the celebration of the National holiday of the Republic of Bulgaria – March 3rd. The day marks the 131st anniversary of Bulgarian freedom.

The celebrations began on March 2nd 2009 with a ceremonial procession at the monument in the Arabakonak pass.

At 11:00 on March 3rd, the National flag of the Republic of Bulgaria will be raised ceremonially in front of the monument of the Unknown soldier in the capital Sofia.

On the same day, between 13:00 and 15:00, military brass orchestras will perform musical programs in central places of the cities Sofia, Pleven, Plovdiv, Varna, Veliko Tarnovo, Sliven, Karlovo and Stara Zagora.

In the evening (18:30 o’clock), a reveille will take place on the square of the National assembly. The annual reveille is in the memory of the heroes that fought and died for the freedom of Bulgaria.
