Seven medals for the Bulgarians at Euro 2009

Friday and Saturday were the last two competition days of the 19th European arm wrestling championship in Sofia. Men and women competed in both right- and left-handed tournaments.

The balance of Bulgaria from the two days are seven medals: one golden, two silver and four bronze.

The gold medal was for Krasimir Kostadinov. Kostadinov won the title in the category up to 90 kg., right-handed. The European vice-champions are Stefan Lengarov (up to 80 kg. category) and Plamen Kisov (over 110 kg. left-handed). The bronze medals went to Georgi Gaidardzhiev (up to 80 kg., left-handed), Marin Pantaleev (up to 110 kg. left-handed), Alexander Balabanov (up to 70 kg. right-handed) and Martin Dodov (over 110 kg. right-handed).

Russia classified first in the team rankings, followed by Ukraine, Turkey and Bulgaria.
