On December 8th 2008 tge Bulgarian national bank (BNB) releases in public the approved new bank-notes of 10 lev denomination, 2008 emission. The new emission keeps the size, colour and graphical style of the previous 10 lev bank-notes, the 1999 emission.

The main differences in the new 10 lev bank-note are mostly in the updated dates, signatures and safety measures. The Central bank announced that the previous emission from 1999 is still in currency, along the 2008 emission.
