Protests and closed streets block Sofia during the energetics forum

The association for free speech “Anna Politkovskaya” and other social organizations intend to organize protests during the upcoming international energetics forum this Friday and Saturday.

The protests are against the Bulgarian dependence on Russia, the pollution from the power plants in Stara Zagora and Galabova and the radioactive wastes.

The protesting citizens will “greet” the arriving delegations on April 24th between 11:00 AM and 16:00 PM at the “Eagle’s bridge” in Sofia, in a specified spot near the former tram railway.

The parking lots near the National palace of culture, the “blue zone” parking lots and the square “Knyaz Alexander the First” are closed. Parking at and near by several luxurious hotels in Sofia is also forbidden.
