National mourning for the casualties in the “Bakajik” region

Today, Bulgaria is in mourning for the sixteen people that perished in the region “Bakajik” near Iambol. A memorial service for the casualties will take place at 10:30 AM in the church “St. Nedelia” in Sofia. Another memorial service will take place in the church “St. Nikolai Chudotvorets” in Iambol. The city is in a three-day mourning.

The catastrophe in the “Bakajik” region happened at about 9:15 last Thursday.

A bus “Chavdar” that carried passangers to the monastery “St. Alexander Nevski” for the traditional celebrations of the Day of St. Spas lost control, probably due to malfunctions. The bus crashed into the people on the sidewalk and nearby stalls. The casualties are mostly adults, but also include a 16 year old boy.
