Kavarna absorbs 500 million euro

The provision of 160 decares near the building of the municipality administration of Kavarna for a photovoltaic park will be discussed on the conference of the Municipal council of Kavarna in February.

Several Bulgarian and foreign companies have already expressed interest to participate in the project. Auctions will determine the companies that will take care of the installation of photovoltaic modules. This will be the direction of Kavarna regarding the production of energy from renewable resources, clarified the mayor Tsonko Tsonev.

The seaside municipality already has several photovoltaic panels installed, but they are small. One of the gas stations of Kavarna is powered by such energy source. Two more investors applied in the municipality administration with plans to use similar methods.

“The potential of Kavarna regarding the use of solar energy is very big”, said Tsonev. The sunny days in Kavarna each year are 255.

Beside the alternative renewable energy sources, Tsonko Tsonev expects serious development in agriculture, tourism and estate business in Kavarna throughout 2009.

The mayor backs up his expectations for a successful year with solid numbers. According to him, over the next 11 months, nearly 1 billion euro will be invested in Kavarna. By now, 500 million euro have already been absorbed.
