Days of European heritage begin in Velingrad

The Days of European heritage have begun in Velingrad. Their end will be marked by a round table that will discuss “Museums and culture tourism” with representatives of the tourism business and museum specialists.

This year’s edition of the festival unifies two anniversaries – 80th anniversary of Nikolai Gyaurov and the 100th anniversary of “Museum activity in the Chepinski region”. The Ministry of culture organizes the festival with aid from the European Commission.

The program began with a presentation of the documentary of the Bulgarian National Television “LIBERA ME”, dedicated to the opera singer Nikolai Gyaurov. A concert in the community center “Father Paisii” also took place.

The festival also included the multimedia presentation of the results from the International archeology expedition to the Thracian shrine – the peak Ostrets. The presentation will take place in the city gallery. The third tome from the historical series “Tsepina – the Chepinski region in the struggle for Bulgarian freedom” by Ivan Diviziev will also be presented.
