Bulgarian movie presented to a large Cannes audience

The two screenings of the Bulgarian film “Eastern plays” in Theatre Croisette in Cannes on May 17th were greeted by large audiences and applauses after the end.

The movie of the script-writer and director Kamen Kalev is part of the “Directors’ Fortnight”, in the company of mythic heavyweights like Francis Ford Coppola. Coppola presented his latest work “Tetro”.

“Eastern plays” is competing for the award for the best first feature film – the “Golden camera”. “Eastern plays” is also the first Bulgarian feature film in the official selection of the most prestigious cinema forum in the world in 19 years.
