27th International book fair in Sofia begins

The association “Bulgarian book”, working together with the National pallace of culture and the Sofia municipality, organizes the 27th International book fair in Sofia. It opens today, December 3rd, and will go on until December 7th.

This year, the Russian federation will be a special guest to the event, this year being the year of Rusia in Bulgaria. The cultural program involves about 20 modern Russian writers, 70 Russian publishers and a booth over 800 square metres large.

The foreign participants include Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Iran. The poster exposition “The Bulgarian letters – alphabet of Europe” and the photo exhibition “Traditions” by Alexander Mihailov are among the highlights of the event.

This year, the International book fair in Sofia will present over a hundered Bulgarian publishers. The fair spread over 2000 square metres. The fair will include a rich cultural program with exhibitions, presentations of writers, literary readings. Halls 8 and 9 of the National pallace of culture have been reserved for the fair.
