The structure of the tourists changes, not their number

The chief executive of the National tourism agency Anelia Krushkova, who met tourism business representatives in Varna, revealed that the decrease of tourists for the first quarter of 2009 is 6,6%.

“The situation, however, is gradually getting better and at this moment, the number of registrations is about as much as last year”, pointed out Krushkova.

She also announced the following data: the organized tourist groups from Russia decreased by 16,6%, but the number of private visits of tourists increased by 50%. This shows that the number of tourists isn’t changing, but their structure is.

Krushkova appealed to businessmen to be more flexible in their prices and the services they offer, so that they remain relevant in the conditions of an international crisis.
