The website dnevnik.bg states that the golf tourism will be one of the tourism sectors that will benefit from a significant development.

This decision was implemented in the National strategy for steady development of tourism in Bulgaria during the period 2009 – 2013, approved by the government on March 2nd.

Golf is part of the strategy, because it will bring wealthier tourists to Bulgaria, said the vice-chairman of the National tourism agency (DAT) Stanislav Nikolov.

According to the strategy, 30 golf fields with 18 holes and several others with 9 holes will be constructed. These golf centers will be constructed near popular resorts.

The strategy plans to stimulate the private partnerships in the construction of golf complexes.
