Kalfin: Bulgaria will be a main energy centre in Southeastern Europe
Assessing the accomplishments of 2008, the minister of foreign affaris Ivaylo Kalfin said that the economic efforts of the Bulgarian foreign policies give real results. As an example, Kalfin pointed out the energy projects like the atomic power plant “Belene”, the “Southern Stream”, and the “Burgas – Alexandroupolis” project.
“After 10 years, Bulgaria will be the main energy source in Southeastern Europe”, says the minister. Kalfin announced that in this year, the visits of the president in foreign countries and the visits of foreign presidents in Bulgaria were 21, the visits of the prime minister – seven, and his own – 20.
“Behind this statistic lies the message of revitalized economical connections”, stated the minister. He added that the important countries that Bulgaria aims to co-opearate with in the future are the ones in the Far East, in Central Asia, and the Arabic countries.
