The first certificates and nominations for quality and security of the lodging services were handed out today, December 2nd 2008, in Sofia. They were given to 23 lodging-houses and family hotels that participated in the competition organized by the Bulgarian association for alternative tourism (BAAT) and the National agency for tourism (DAT).

A BAAT nomination marks that the certain hotel is applying the “Green house” politics and will – after a period of time – cover the requirements for a certificate.

The BAAT certificates acknowledge the efforts and accomplishments of the hosts in the following fields:
– effective resource management
– bioagriculture
– contribution to the local culture and society
– preservation of nature
