“Bulgaria has always been regarded as a very stable country, with harmony between ethnicities and religions. You’ve always served as an example”, said the French ambassador Etienne de Ponsen at a press conference.

“No one has any reason to doubt this”, said the ambassador when answering the question whether Ahmend Dogan had any reason to request the overseeing of ethnical peace by NATO on the night after the elections.

“Your entire history speaks of your tradition in tolerant co-existence. This tradition can’t simply disappear overnight”, said the ambassador.

According to him, France reacted so positively because of the high voting activity, not because of the success of a single party.
