Veliko Tarnovo is the prettiest Bulgarian city for the Czech ambassador

The ambassador plenipotentiary of the Czech republic in Bulgaria, Martin Klepetko, claims that the prettiest Bulgarian city is Veliko Tarnovo.

Martin Klepetko graduated with a degree in musicology in Karlov’s university in Prague and a degree for orchestra conductors in the Academy for performers. His diplomatic service begins in 1994 in the department for the Middle East and Northern Africa of the Czech ministry of foreign relations. He had also been an ambassador in Iraq. He came to Bulgaria in November 2006. He can speak English, Serbian, Russian and German. He is married and has two children.

When he was asked about his frequent travels across Bulgaria and about his favorite spot, he answered the following: “I might sound a bit pragmatic, but I frequently return to the places I have business in. However, I have favorite places in Bulgaria – like Veliko Tarnovo, which I consider the most beautiful Bulgarian city. But it’s impossible for me to mention all the cities I like. I love mountains and when the weather allows it, I love taking a hike. It’s a passion of mine. Of all the tallest heights in Bulgaria, Vihren is the only one left unclimbed. I planned to conquer Vihren in 2008, but the weather was not on my side.”
