Cruise ships will connect Bulgaria and Romania

A daily cruise line will connect Svishtov and Zimnich. Citizens can travel with a 200 person cruise ship twice per day.

The line started officially a year ago, but functioned only during the weekends. Over 13 000 passengers used the line during that period.

The initiative comes from the Romanian side, as the cruise line provides to Romanian tourists the opportunity for cheap shopping in Bulgaria.

Bulgarians prefer boating in the Danube. For tourists with such intentions, the harbour in Svishtov organizes cruise to the Danube islands each Saturday at 12:00.
