The Sofia opera triumphs in Japan

From 4th to 26th October 2008 the National opera and ballet will visit Japan for 16 performances. “Turandot” by Puccini and “A Masked Ball” by Verdi are the chosen pieces to be presented in front of the japanese audience during the fourth visit by the bulgarian artists. The first spectacles were already performed to great success in Tokio.

The tour was made possible by “Japan arts” and is the fourth for the bulgarian opera since 2000. Eight years ago the director of the Opera Plamen Kartalov lead everyone to Japan with “Turandot” (his previous play) and “”Gioconda”. The next tours were in 2002 with “Bohemians” and “Don Karlos” and “Rigoletto” and “Otello” in 2005.
