20 families – candidates to adopt a child – participated in the first informational meeting of the campaign “Take me home!”, announced the organizers.

The initiative aims to find enough candidates to take care of babies that were just born and under risk of being left, and of children up to 3 years old, to which the only alternative is the social institution.

Every year in Bulgaria, between 1 500 and 2 000 mothers leave their babies right after they are born, while still in the delivery room.

The campaign “Take me home!” is an initiative of the “Za Nashite Detsa” foundation. According to statistics, the abandoned children up to three years old in Bulgaria are more than anywhere else in Europe.
