The Blue zone in Burgas will be functional by New Year’s

The “Blue zone” in Burgas will be made functional by end of this year. This was announced by the director of the department “Sport grounds, parking lots and garages” Jivko Ivanov.

The first “Blue zone” will cover the distance between “Hristo Botev” blvd and “Democracy” str. and between San Stefano and Bulair. The allowed staying time will be between 30 minutes and 3 hours, explained Ivanov. Citizens can park their cars by sending an SMS or by pre-purchasing tickets.

The service will cost 1 lv. The stay for citizens with proven disabilities will be free. The citizens in the region defined as a “Blue zone” will be able to park near their homes by paying the minimum annual tax of 60 lv.

At first, the capacity of the zone for short-term parking will be 600 vehicles. Gradually this capacity will extend to encompass the entire city center. Jivko Ivanov also promises automated parkings in the future.

Control will be constant and the vehicles of violators will be swiftly removed. The owners will be notified accordingly; they will receive an SMS 5 minutes before their paid stay is up.
