The website burgasinfo.com announced that the municipality councillors in Pomorie decided to initiate a referendum for the construction of the petrol pipe “Burgas-Alexandroupolis”.

The referendum will take place on May 16th 2009.

500 signatures were signed for just an hour in the petition against the construction of the petrol pipes.

The Initiative committee for the protection of the gulf of Burgas sent the petition to the European commissar Meglena Kuneva, demanding the stop of construction of buoys for the discharge of raw petrol on the shores of Pomorie.
